I edit this document with many of my writing-related lesson plans & notes as I create them. I have created mini-versions of this document for both my Honors 10 students and English 9 students that limits the links to only the topics addressed in class. Feel free to browse these lesson plans, but know this is an ever-growing, changing document as I find better ways to meet students' needs!

This 3-day lesson addressed the need of our 7th graders, who scored below proficient with academic vocabulary on standardized MAP tests. I created different learning experiences to appeal to several different learning styles. You can find all three lesson plans in one document below, as well as a formative assessment.

When I observed a sophomore English class the previous semester, I noticed many students struggling with understanding narrative structure. To address this, I modified a lesson I observed to create a lesson for my Reading in the Content Area class. Below you will find my lesson plan and a link to my Google Slides document. To the right is the full lesson taught through Zoom.

I created this lesson as part of a class novel unit where the sophomores could choose between reading three novels: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Wonder by R. J. Palacio, and Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. This lesson unites the three reading groups into one activity in order to review literary terms as well as learn to identify them in authentic writing. The full lesson plan is attached below.

As part of my unit plan on Hamlet, I converted one lesson to an online format and walked my peers through interpreting an excerpt from the drama. Below is the lesson plan that I taught, followed by the resources I created for the first ten days of a complete unit on Shakespeare's Hamlet.
